Like clockwork, the boy was born on his due date... with 7 minutes to spare.
The first official shot of Brian - the pediatrician had to come in for the delivery, so the usual routine of Brian visiting mom before being taken to the warming table was bypassed, so I didn't try to take any pictures until they were done evaluating him. He turned out just fine, great apgar scores, etc.
Eyes all gooped up, he's just chillin' on the table. The black gook from the foot printing can be seen by his feet, which are apparently HUGE according to the nurses. Monica thinks he'll be a great swimmer. Combined with our running abilities and my cycling skills, he'll be a triathlete :o)
Mom relieved after 9 hours of labor and lots and lots of pushing. When we took the birthing class in June, we thought the whole breathing thing to be pretty amusing. But it really helped. A lot. As you can see, he's had a habit of sucking his thumb already, trying to continue that ASAP.
Born at 11:53, we were starved. Luckily there was a 24 hour Subway in-house, so we enjoyed our favorite sandwiches at 1 o'clock in the morning before "going to sleep" at almost 3am.
