Eli Update

So I have accumulated a lot of pictures and video that don’t fall into any category but are just too cute… so for those of you who are interested in the day-to-day things, here is an update on what Eli is doing, with a post on Brian to follow.

Eli at age 17 months:

Precocious, determined, willful, outgoing. He never sits still, this little boy. He makes his wishes quite clear! He hates diaper changes, getting in the car, being carried anywhere, sitting in his high chair, and going down for naps. He loves walking in any direction he chooses, being outside, trying to climb anything and everything, sticks, puddles, and throwing his food on the floor.

He makes his wishes known! When he wants to go out, he grabs his “backpack” and will get his toy keys and try to let himself out!

Another time, he got hold of a remote, and was trying to make Elmo come on:

He is so fastidious; he loves to wipe/blow his nose, and then throw away the tissue. He also picks up tiny bits of trash off the floor and throws them away. He takes after his dad, being so tidy!

And he is just now getting into reading books. He will sit for quite a while and go through his books. This is one from the library that he LOVES, he does the animal sounds (apparently all animals go “roar roar”). He is starting to identify animal sounds, though, like dog and woof, cow and moo, etc.

He is very inquisitive and figures out how things work very quickly:

He is not at all shy about going up to strangers and having long conversations with them. He walks into places like he owns them, and screams bloody murder when I drag him out of Brian’s preschool. He’ll be starting in the fall in his own class, but I’m pretty sure he thinks he is already a preschooler. He’s a source of constant destruction:

He is not as cuddly as Brian, that’s for sure. He loves to blow kisses, but don’t be fooled! He does not give kisses or hugs in real life. But is is a sweet, sweet boy, and for the most part, all smiles.
